Death by desertion

Remember this
when life breaks relationship with you, you die.
Its that simple.

Consider life
and all she gave you
desire, heartbreaks, pain, happiness, ecstasy, depression
It kept you fulfilled with one emotion or other
never asking you anything more than
few breaths every minute,
few glasses of water,
few meals every day
and little bit of protection.

And silly you,
You took it for granted
that it will be yours,
forever.
Life is not married to you
You are not the only one who fulfils her existential desire.
The hare, who was in a hurry to cross the road,
is now, a road kill.
Life has dumped him by the roadside
And she is dancing with maggots.
The teenagers in the Ferrari have gone far away,
leaving behind a thrilling skid
a thud
a little dent
a misalignment
they have been forgiven
for now.

Do you think this zebra,
had one stripe too many?
Why was he picked to become the lunch of the lion pride?
Perhaps he was bored,
Serengeti's sizzling sun slowed his reflexes,
He didn’t notice
life’s surreptitious movement in the midst of grass
what spelled death to him
was nothing but life’s preference for another
fitter, stronger, livelier life form.

Why do you think you would be spared?
Your protective fortresses of civilization
give you a false sense of security
Behind these walls
you will die of boredom

One day life she will reach a conclusion
that she has had enough of this drudgery
She will threaten to divorce you,
you will beg,
you will drag your extra forty pounds of fat to the doctor
who will make you pay for every single ounce
you will get better
but then you will crib about your medical bills
and life will consider it as a personal affront
and one fine day,
she will leave you none the less.
No, there won’t be an advance notice
No threat
No fight.
No matter what your postmortem report says
Never forget that every single death is a death by desertion

Cherish your life
Love it
Pamper it
Respect it
when the flame starts flickering resurrect it
Get her a new gift,
Give her a touch of novelty
here and there.
Romance your life
Dance with your life
Keep her charmed.
Do something more for her than just breathing
Stop being a cucumber
Live!

Remember
When life breaks relationship with you, you die.
Its that simple.
